Why you’ll love it:
The Henriots have been growing grapes in Champagne since the 16th century, selling their own wines since 1808. In 1994 Joseph Henriot, who also owns the Chablis house William Fevre, stepped down from running Veuve Clicqot and took the reigns of his family's Grand Marque. In the ensuing decade he proceeded to take it to the heights of the famed Chablis estate. The fruit comes exclusively from the Cotes de Blanc, and it is the obsessive attention to detail that marks the quality and character of the wine. It is lightly colored with a very fine and persistent mousse. The nose is lively and fresh with soft floral nuances. The soft and pure fruit center of this Champagne belies the intensity of the citrus, floral and mineral flavors. Perfectly balanced it almost seems to caress your the palate. The wonderfully indulgent Henriot Blanc de Blancs will enhance the mood on any occasion.
Tastes Like?
Lovely as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to dishes such as foie gras terrine, roasted chicken, lobster rolls, smoked salmon or sushi.
Nicely mature nose and well balanced on the palate. Fresh and appetising but no excess acidity. Very attractive aperitif champagne with a slightly chalky finish. 17/20 points. - Jancis Robinson
